With over 20 years of experience in higher education, Dr. Ray Lutzky is a seasoned leader who expands the reach of the world’s most innovative universities.
Ray leverages his expertise in digital audience strategy, social media marketing, enrollment outreach, and public relations to create and execute effective enrollment growth strategies. He’s worked with multiple universities to expand high-quality, affordable, and workforce-focused academic programs in business, healthcare, engineering, and education. He also shares his knowledge and passion as an adjunct professor at USC and NYU, teaching graduate courses in digital media management, user experience, and research. Ray holds a PhD in Communication and Rhetoric from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and master’s degrees in digital media from Syracuse University and Arizona State University.
Dr. Ray Lutzky is Vice President, Strategic Partnerships at Element451, an AI-powered, all-in-one student engagement platform that helps institutions create meaningful, personalized, and engaging interactions. He previously served as Vice President, University Partnerships at Academic Partnerships, one of the largest online higher education service providers in the United States. He was also Director, University Partnerships at InStride; a company founded by Arizona State University offering online higher education tuition benefits to corporations. Ray held enrollment leadership roles at Cornell, NYU, Pace University, and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI). At these universities he managed admissions, international recruitment, teaching assistants, and financial aid.
Ray earned his B.S. in electronic media, arts & communication, and his Ph.D. in communication & rhetoric, both from RPI. Ray’s dissertation “Diversifying STEAM: Culturally Situated Drawing for Math Education with African-American Youth” explores the relationship between culture, math, and technology. He also holds an M.S. in public relations from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University and an M.S. in digital audience strategy from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University. In December 2020, Ray completed a Certificate in Leadership Principles at Harvard Business School Online.
